April 26, 2018 Musical Theatre Performance Information
1) The Dress Rehearsal:Dress rehearsal is taking place on Monday April 30th at 9:30am. All grades will be going to the gym in their costumes.Robin Guy (dance director) will be directing the rehearsal.This is also considered the SCHOOL PERFORMANCE.
2) Parent Performances during Education Week Performances for parents will take place on Thursday May 10th. Full school performance that will last just over an hour.There will be TWO performances: each grade will perform twice:MORNING: 9:45 - 11:00 amAFTERNOON: 1:30 - 2:45 pm
*** HOW DO PARENTS KNOW WHICH PERFORMANCE THEY ARE INVITED TO ATTEND?
MORNING:Parents with children who have the last name initial beginning from A-L are invited.
AFTERNOON:Parents with children who have the last name initial beginning from M-Z are invited.
After their performance, the students will return to their classroom.
Robin Guy will MC the parent performances. The St. Clare Dance team will also perform before or after the musical theatre performances. We hope to see you at one of the 2 performances !!!

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is holding a Christmas Store for their students. This enables students to purchase gifts for their family members. All funds raised will be used to support the students at this school enabling them to go on field trips and to purchase school supplies and to provide food and clothing for families who need assistance. A portion of the funds collected by the Christmas store will also be given to charity or another school in our board that requires support from the community. We are looking for gently used:-jewelry- books- toys- coffee mugs - christmas ornaments- and anything else you feel would be appropriate as a gift for the students to purchase We need the donations sent to our school by December 15. Math - Grade 5 and 6 will be having short Math Assessments this week on their understanding of Number Sense and Numeration. Language - Grade 5 and 6 will continue with their paragraph writing - brainstorming ideas, completing a graphic organizer (Monday night), writing their first draft (Tuesday night), editing, revising, and publishing their paragraphs. "Wonder" Read-Aloud continues. Please donate food for our Thanksgiving Food Drive ! Welcome to Grade 5 & 6 Blended I would like to welcome all the students, and their families. I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. This year, our School Board theme is "Sent to be the Good News”. We will integrate the Board theme into all subjects and our daily life.

I encourage all families to purchase a St. Clare Agenda, this year, as we will be using it daily. The cost is included in the school activity fee. Please sign your child's agenda daily; it will be used as a communication tool between parents, students and teachers. Throughout the year, please feel free to contact me at school (613-834-6334), if you have any questions or concerns. Ms. Karen Moorman Activity fee - $30 for 1 child, $40 for a family (fee includes agenda)
Agenda, Blog & Homework: The students will be asked to purchase an agenda to keep themselves organized (price included in the activity fee). Please review and sign the agenda, on a daily basis, and ensure that all homework is completed well, and returned the following day. For homework, the students are expected to complete any unfinished class work, research projects, read novels, type writing assignments, study for tests, and independently review/practise any skills they are having difficulty with. Completing homework and being prepared for class, on a daily basis, are 2 key items to ensure success in grade 5 and 6.
Key items and supplies to have a successful day: Lunch, snacks, water bottle, indoor shoes, pencil case with coloured pencils, markers, pens (red and blue), pencils, pencil sharpener, erasers, scissors, white glue, glue sticks, 1 Kleenex Box, 1 Box of Large Ziploc bags, agenda, calculator, variety of Highlighters, 4 pre-cut Tennis Balls for the feet of the chair, etc.
